Leadership Survey
Preamble
The Andrews University School of Leadership and HIM Research Institute are collaborating to launch a leadership training program for Adventist lay leaders. One part of this process is learning what leadership training needs you may have in your business or ministry. The following survey, launched at the ASI Europe Convention (Sofia, Bulgaria, 2024), will provide insight into your leadership training needs.

Leadership is complex and difficult to define.
It exists within dynamic and agile environments, with significant, ever-changing internal and external factors. Leadership opportunities exist within every level of an organization; leadership is the work of a lifetime.
Lifelong learning and intentional growth and development are therefore necessary and beneficial to all leadership.
The Andrews University School of Leadership defines leadership in four clusters:
- leadership of self
- leadership with others
- leading through organisations
- leadership and research
General definition
“Leadership is a process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal.”
(Peter G. Northouse)
Faith-based definition
“Leadership is a dynamic process in which a man or woman with God-given capacity influences a specific group of God's people toward His purposes for the group.”
(Robert J. Clinton)
